I would be interested to hear from anyone out there who has one of these vehicles. I would like to see all those little traits that you have noticed as unique to the vehicle weather good or bad and any problems with the vehicle. Ford dealer tells me my problems are characteristic of that vehicle and can't be fixed.

I have very rough idle
surging at low revs
bad diff lash
air con that is on for an hour in the ute and still dont get turned down (back to ford 5 times on that one)
Rocker noise (replaced)

been to a couple them and windsor but you want to be sure dont you, maybe I'm just paranoid and distrustfull.

All T3 engines idle rough!

How rough is rough?
enough to give you a knocking noise or loud rattle in the fork/thrust bearing assembly.

You don't want to swap for a BA XR8 ute do you ? I know what I'd prefer!
Near impossible to find a good Ford Dealer to take care of your pride and joy!

The noise you are talking about in the gear box is standard in the T3 tremec gearbox. I heard you have to change bearing or something in the front box to stop the noise. I think they call the noise roll over noise.

This is all good. I haven't had previous experience with this type f vehicle and don't know others with them so it all helps guys. thanx fellas any thing is appreciated

Yep what TS 50 said all the 5.6 motors idle a bit "cammy"

Gearbox noise, is something that comes with the Tremac box
Surging, at low revs yes they seem to do that, I think its the cam.IMO
Difflash, now that can be fixed,take a trip to the dealers an bitch about it and get them to fix it, Hope this helps.....
