but their both great cars with the better suspension on the T3.

Not saying that there is something wrong with a T2, but the thread is comparing a STOCK T3 with a STOCK GT.

I am sure as it has been shown that there is a lot of KW's left in the BOSS.
The GT needs stiffer suspension to be a weapon on the track.
But FPV marketing I'm sure don't envisage to many buyers puting their GT's on the track so why would they build them to suit this as it is a cheap aftermarket mod.
The thread is not about which one can be moded to produce the most power, Although it is a good point for someone that would want to do mods to the engine. The GT can definitely take more mods then the T3.

Re: AUIII TS50 vs BA GT-P

Oh yea, I forgot to mention.
The TS50 has the fairmont dash with climate control, not the base model dash, like the TE50.

T3 TS50 or GT-P ?

If I could afford it, both.
but since I can't, I would pick the TS50.

I went for the TE50.
- Cheaper
- Lighter
- Faster

Re: AUIII TS50 vs BA GT-P

At the Canberra Ford show and Shine day, there was a T3 TS50, 2 x T2 TE50s and 2 x GT-Ps.

The Citrix GT-P took out the best Tickford/FPV vehicle.

This shows that the public like the GT-Ps better than the T3s. I believe that the main reason has nothing to do with how good the T3 is,but what the $$% is a TS50?

Certainly, the Tickford performance name was always under sold. I would pick a GT-P anytime as the public knows what they are - not necessarily because they are a better car. I hate the AU series but do love the looks of a T3.

It's a pity that many of the public do not understand what a TE50 or a TS50 were. Most do know even know that there were 3 series of them!!

Re: AUIII TS50 vs BA GT-P

After driving both my TS50 and then my GTP around wakefeild on the same day and the same conditions I would have to say that the GTP will do faster lap times. Quicker out of the corners and 25Ks faster down the straight. The TS50 would pull 160K's down the straight and the GTP would pull 190K's. Both fitted with Brembo brakes and 19inch rims.

We already know its the TE by a long way,Team GT are finding it hard to match the times the TE can do, even after 12 month with the GT they still an't there, I think its the weight of the GT it is a lot faster down the strights eg: Phillip Is, but seems to stuggle in the corners, don't know how the get around that but im shaw Team GT & procar will come up with somthing....

You are telling me that TEAM GT are going to run two slower cars next year (read two GT's)
We will see what Falkie does in the GT
At the 24hr the fastest laps were 2;48.69for the TE50
2;37.44 for the GT I don't know if the weather had any effect on these times or who was driving at the time.

Re: AUIII TS50 vs BA GT-P

I am not defending the T-Series cars because i own one, but those lap times of the TE50 were from an extremely wet track. I think if it was a dry track when racing the car would have been odds on favorite to win the race, considering it came third.

Re: AUIII TS50 vs BA GT-P

Well so far this year the T series on the track has had the wood on the GT at every track
Last year the TE50 did a lap time of 2mins 34.3864 secs during the 24 hour race. It lapped consistently for most of the day in the high 30's low 40's.
So looking at that, the TE was more than 3 secs a lap faster than the GT. Mind you the track conditions do alter from day to day, let alone year to year.
But looking at that, the GT has some work to do to be as quick as the T3 T series
Just my 2 cents worth
