anyone done a diff ratio change in auto?

From what ive been told it screws your puters setting and puts the trans in limp mode.....

How does it screw your computer? The speedo is calibrated by all of the wheels speed sensors in the BA's, so there's no speedo transducer. So changing ratio won't effect the speedo calibration at all.

computer sees wrongs revs for speed, thinks there is a drive line problem and goes into "OH SHIT!" mode.

yup i know someone who's tried this, and the gears would have to be changed manually as it wouldnt in auto mode

Maybe when Barry from BPT gets the computer flasher, it might have some parameters for a diff ratio change ?
GTP330 may be able to shed some light on this ?

Actually.... even Fords computer will let you change the parametres of the diff ratio BUT it might not let you do exactly what you want, and if thats the case it wont accept it.. I tested something a couple of days ago and it let me put in 3.7 diff ratio BUT it kept stuffing up on the tyre size.. But Barrys flasher will Definatly be able to let you change the diff ratio.. so heres waiting for that.

Was that rod? He said he changed ratios in his ute.

So tell me I wonder if that's the case how The DJR cars over came this problem as they have 3.73:1 final drive.
