A freind of mine took delivery of his BA GT-P a few months ago.
Its manual, and hes not happy with what he calls "drive line shunt" Apparently, its quite noticable.
Hes had FPV look at the car, who assure him its "normal" but he thinks its pretty noticable
Has anyone else experienced this? He would be interested to know if anyone is having the same issue, or if it is in fact just the nature of the manual cars.
Cheers

If you mean the car does the funky monkey if you try to maintain a constant speed in 1st e.g. 30km/h the answer is
YEP
I have driven a couple of others, 1 GT-P & 1 Pursuit, both do the same.
It is much less noticable in highers gears.

Let him that hath understanding count the number of the BEAST:
for it is the number of a F6 Typhoon; and its number is 0217.
l am disappointed to hear that GT's are suffering the same shunt problems l have endured in our XR6T. The GTP l drove was an auto so shunt wasnt a problem.
l was told by a Ford proving ground driver on another forum that the GT's have a different software program that compensates for shunt. Have others experienced shunt in their FPV's?
Our now sold XR6T had bad shunt, it really spoilt the car. However when l took it into the dealer for the backlash to be measured, it came in at 25mm, only half of the allowable spec. Cant imagine how bad the car would have been if it had of been up around 50mm!!

I drove a TE50 loan car from Ford and the backlash noise with that car was terrible. Second gear on a around-about in traffic was the worse. I have driven trucks with less drive train slop than that car.
Mine had a new final drive asembly (axle to axle Diff) fitted this morning... And what a difference! The pinion whine has gone (original cause for complaint) Can even hear the intake roar now!
But the lack of driveline shunt is the BIG surprise! From new, mine had terrible "clunk" on takeup.. Something I learn't to live with?
To my way of thinking, my original diff was set up with too much backlash.
I just wonder if diff supplier have now become a little more "particular" in their diff assembly techniques??
How did you get them to replace it all? Lots of complaints about the shunt and noise?
Actually, the dealer could not have been better!... I mentioned it (Whine) at 15,000 service, & said how it had been present since almost new. The dealer noted it & rang me next day informing me that FPV had approved replacement,(that was early Dec) The wait was a little sustained, But at the end of the day, It wasn't like the vehicle was unsafe or undrivable!
