Hi everyone,

What is your opinion on the new Mk 2 GT's? What are they like to drive compared to the Mk 1? Is the 6 speed much better than the 5 speed?

I haven't driven a Mk2 yet, but if you want a manual I would imagine the diferrence between the previous model would be worth the stretch. If you want an auto then there's not much in it really. I do love idea of finally getting some gauges, climate control and premium sound as standard, but I would have liked leather as a no cost option as well. The stripe package is an improvement IMO for Mk2.

I haven't driven a new 6 speed yet but from the reports of others yes it's far better than the MK1 also i like the stripe package on the MK2 especially the GT-P now is a wicked looking vechile.The guages nice but they need some work in my opinion.

I picked mine up in december the six speed is a huge improvement, needs amp gauge ,HP is a joke compaird to my 03 gt the cluch is worse than the one on the second moter on the 03 gt,the diff is the same back lash i mean,I have leather no biggy, climate control is great.treaction controll is life threatering.BUT i lov my GT. I hope the hp gets better with kms.But to drive it sh-ts on my 03

how do you mean, the only mechanical differences is the Gearbox in the mark2, the suspention package is the same, same differential, same motor...

Please explaine as i am rather interested.

I was led to believe that the main difference is the Wheels which look awesome , guages on dash, stripes and 6 speed

i dont have a GTP so the rims are the same,the suspention in the MK11 has been stiffend and XR8 got the old GT suspention thats what i was told,but this GT drives better and smoother stears in and out of corners better at speed but ride is harder.
