Justing wanting to know everyones opinion on the "P" cars. ie build number P02.
Do you think that they have a hint of collectability to them when compared to a non "P" car? I'm looking at one, there are some little differences to the cars - cosmetically inside. I believe that there were only 6 "P" cars made - all in Nov 2002.
GT build P002 is a local one here. It is identical on the outside to other GTs, well it was until the owner riced it up anyway.
It is easy to spot now, it is acid rush with different wheel, factory stripes AND the original GT badges, aftermarket bonnet with wobbly bit (pseudo shaker) and antennas on the front and back glass.
Probably not real collectable anymore.
I think there were more than 6,
I have personally seen GTs P002 (acid). P003 (phantom), P004 (venom) and
GT-P P007 (blood).
I have also seen a Pursuit in blueprint but I can't remember the number.
I am not 100% sure that the phantom one was 003 either.
003,007 & pursuit were at motor show last year and are in the brochures, 004 was the one pranged during MOTOR drive day and shown in MOTOR mag test.

P car versus a std GT differences
- stripes are standard
- dual zone climate control
- better more supportive seats
- Brembos
- different grille treatments (P's get silver grille's, GT's get black ones)
By and large they're the same cars and when it comes to sale time you'll be better off with a GT as second hand buyes won't pay a premium (or are unlikely to pay sufficient premium) for the above differences.

I think that you have misunderstood the question what EL 109 meant was not GTP but the first ones to come out thus the "P" in Serial Numbers.

P cars are not something I would consider buying. They are shakedown cars built for shows and to determine what wont last in the final production. They may be rare but you can be assured that have been driven to hell and back.
IMHO you are better off geting a low KM production version.
Only a minor point, but on the early build cars/utes, the FPV logo/eagle thingy is a lot lighter on the instruments (stands out more) no big deal but i thought i'd mention it anyway
In regards to your question of collectability EL 109, a P car is your best bet, they are rare, different and most importantly;documented. I can guarantee you that the car pranged by Motor will be worth more than BAGT #187 (as an e.g.) in 20 years time. Even if it was run in correctly and pampered its whole life. Remember people didn't want race cars 20 years ago as they were "trashed". Allan Moffats XYGTHO sat in a used car lot for months while other HO's sold around it. What is it worth now?
I'm asking for $80,000 for GT-P003 which by the way flapist, is Blueprint. even at that price ($20,000 more than a new "production" model) has sparked alot of interest. It is very easy to see who is serious about the car, and when the time comes to negotiate, I believe a very good deal can be struck with the right buyer. I don't intend selling it to just anyone though as the argument about its worth later on is indesputable; which is why it belongs to somebody who recognises it for what it is. btw, there is no difference in the bonnet, front grille, ect. I have a list of exactly what this car has and it will take a keen eye to pick them! If I listen to the advice I got from "FPV" it would not be for sale. But since I am a salesman, well, lets just say, I'm not maintaining my lifestyle just by looking at it! anyone serious about buying it can PM me.

Yeh I wasn't absolutley sure that the phantom one was P003.
I agree that they are a bit collectable but only if kept stock.
Who wants to own Allan Moffats XY-GTHO fitted with a turbo 6, roof removed to make a convertable, painted pink, XA taillights, 15 CB ariels, commodore grill..... ok I am going off the deep end now but you get the picture.
