Yep. That is the data on the DVD.
I suspect that the computer mapping gurus at Sensis (a division of Telstra) have never been outside the CBD (probably not outside of their offices).
I turned that feature off after the first couple of days as it is totally useless.
Have you noticed the huge number of mistakes?
My favorites are the freeway turnoffs that don't exist or are up to 800m out, the streets that are lot numbers not street numbers i.e. they are totally wrong up to 3 ot 4 blocks out, incorrect spelling of street or town names and my favorite of all, actual wrong town names.
Look for Colton QLD. It will show you the position for Dundathu. Colton is about 20km away on completely different road. It also shows that 'Colton' is on the HARVEY BAY road. I wonder if that is the road to HERVEY BAY?
These are not new areas, Dundathu was settled in 1850, Colton in 1910.
It is a shame there is only one data source. Mapinfo have a much more accurate database but it is not available for car satnavs.
It is available for handhelds though, the you beaut el-cheapo handhelds at Harvey Norman are an example.
Maybe they will get it right with the next DVD upgrade.
