OK I know I’m going to get some s**t over this one, I want to put the mrk II FPV GT bonnet decal on my FPV GT, so I went to Etheridge ford in Ringwood to see if they could get me one, the guys there had no idea what I was on about,
Quote "sorry mate I don’t know, we haven’t seen a mark 2 GT yet" for F**k sake you work at a ford car dealership!!! Even my fiancé was stunned that these guys had no idea, any way they took my number and said they would find out how much.
Well I received a call from them today saying that to get these bonnet decals they needed a VIN number to verify that it was for a mark 2 GT, what a load of shit!

Doesn't sound like a load of sh*t to me, sounds pretty fair actually. The best thing to do would be to go down to a local vinyl/signwriter and get them to design one from scratch, can't be too hard at all. bonus being you can have it in any colour you want.

I guess it was pretty obviously going to be something everyone wanted to do so anything to stop the masses from bastardising the MkII. I doubt Ford wants the MkII to be easily copied.

I am a bit of a traditionalist, a mk2 is a mk2 there is very little difference in my opinioin between the above mods on my GT-P and the same mods on a XR6NA.

But then others will disagree and it is a free country (well sort of).

lol i agree with needing a VIN number but her just goto a sticker shop if u want one.. theres been cars getten around for months with there sticker decals, Look at Docs ones.

Strapps had them years ago... there is a pic somewhere in a thread called Rice or Nice ? with pics in it. Shane, give strapps in burwood a ring and see if they have any left.

I'm having it done ...not the Boss 290 sticker but a Boss 260 sticker because I'm ONLY getting an XR8. Dealer has arranged for a sticker guy to do it using a template off the GT MkII.

Don't really care what people think...because as long as the Rego paper has my name on it I'll do what I want. Plus I'm not trying to make people think the car is something its not after all it is a Boss 260 !!
