Has any one done this mod, put in a CAI system that sits behind the lower grill taking up 1/3 of it?, As I’ve found a SS CAI unit that will fit in there nicely (slight mods required) hopefully it will be done tomorrow, IF it work i will post pics of it.

Havent seen that done, would it affect the radiator in any way. Have you seen the OFR CAI, it sits directly under the box and picks up the air from a scoop that sits slightly lower than the front bar.

Yep thats were i got the idea from, i made a scoop from 1.6 mm aluminium and screwed it to the bottom of the splash plate (testing clearance and air pressure), but had F**K all clearance up and down driveways and was also in a low preasure area.
So seing that the front of the grill is a high pressure area, what better place to put it, it will be 410mm wide, 140mm deep and the mouth will be 90mm high, and still leave enough space for every thing else to get a good air flow.

I already have the SS CAI in place but it only has a 10mm gap between the top of the radiator and the bonnet, the one that I have made is 420mm long and 90mm high, with a 100mm flexi tube running up to the pod filter, I should have it done by tomorrow.

It will be conected to the filter by a 100mm flexi tube, and a connector that i've brought from auto barn, the tube will run behind the driveing light then a 90 degree bend up dehind the headlight and into the pod filter unit, it will be a tight fit but it will fit. And i'm ashamed to say that the part i'm putting in is a Holden part.

Shane make sure the air is not going though 1 inlet then out of the other...
the gap between radiator and support panel for your tube might not be wide enough for a 100mm tube..
lol, you got shares in the rivet company dude!!
I don't reckon you'll have any trouble with it falling apart anyway!
