I rang Mal Woods in Warwick today and ordered one of his clutch and pressure plate setups and a tremec short shifter. He said he had a display at the Brisbane Ford vs Holden show and that a lot of GT owners who had modded their cars were experiencing the clutch issue. He said that you can get away with just replacing the pressure plate, but that a lot of the noise coming from the Tremec is actually the FMC fitted clutch plate rattling So I got both, got the car booked in next Monday to have it all put in, should be interesting with a decent clutch setup and a short shifter
Now I've only got the twin pipe setup and a Whiteline 27mm front swaybar to go and she's finished, that is until I can find some reliable reports on these new cams.
Anyway a word for the wise 300+ fWkW = approx $1000 for a new clutch setup supplied and fitted.

On the clutch, my new one in 522 is alot different pedal feel, the old one required some effort, it never gave me one once of grief or slipping, the new one is very lite in the pedal, I do wonder what they have done regarding the new ones.

My clutch is quite light as well (Feb 2004). Much lighter than the 2003 version I drove. Maybe they have changed something Adrian, but it hasn't given me any problems what so ever and sems much easier to launch quick.
Lets all hope that Ford may have finally solved some issue's with the clutch ?

I'l jump in here, I was talking the the Team GT guys the other day, they said they remove the pressure plate and get heavier springs put in end of problem. Although they are restricted in what they can do under the rules I spose .Hope this helps........

yeh they had a lot of issues last year wil regulations allowing the removal of the self adjusters out of the pressure plates and fitting manual adjusters. a couple of HSV got pinged for it, but i believe they have now changed the rules.
