Re: Cold Air Intake

What a ripoff. $470. 13kw gain at the wheels. What a crock. You can basically make one yourself with an XR6T intake tube leading into a hole in the side of the airbox or buy an adaptor from Batterns. Total cost all up about $80 and would give you about the same gain. Not 13kw though thats just a ridiculous statement. No matter how good a cold air intake is it wouldn't give you anymore than about 5-6kw at the wheels.

Re: Cold Air Intake

I have fitted the ss induction system to my GTP.
Ther was an incrtease in HP. I gained 15HP atrw.
Have since made a few mods to increase air flow.
The mouth of the intake has been increased and now the bonnet when is closed it does not restrict the air by crushing down the mouth, looks mean with a 5 inch pipe flowing into the air box.

What about the relocation of the power steering pump where does that go now?

Re: Cold Air Intake

The power steering pump is now fitted to the side of the air box. SS inductions supplied a bracket with the kit, but it is too hard to fit where they suggested. So a new bracket was made by my dealer and it is now fitted to the side of the air box.

Re: Cold Air Intake

MYGT, Did they open up the mouth of the intake. I found that when the bonnet is closed it tended to restrict the opening by about 30%.
