"Console mounted" sequencial shift?

Both Wheels and Street Machine mention that the Auto in the FPV cars is "console mounted" sequencial shift, which obviously means that the shifter is mounted on the console. To me, that is the thingie that runs left to right with the steering wheel and other useful stuff attached to it. Or I could be completely wrong, which is much more likely.

So what's the go? Is this just the normal style shifter that all BA's have but with a fancier name that I can't figure out, or something we don't know about?

Be more like there interpretation of the sport's shifter, there talking about the center console - not the DASH.

Just as I thought... And the cars they have displayed that were had the standard layout.

Just seemed strange they made a big deal out of the "console" part.

Thanks!

Bloody kiwis.
The bit with the steering wheel attached is the Steering Column.
The bit that runs from the dash between the front seats is the console.

Sad that they dropped the steering wheel mounted shift buttons from the T Series but that's progress I guess.
