For as long as I can remember the BMW 7 Series has held the title of fastest depreciating car in this county - losing 27% of it's original value in the first 12 months, another 20% in the 2nd and 17% in the 3rd for a 3 year resale value of 36%.

Now there might be a new pair of depreciation contenders for the title: both from the beloved blue oval.

Let me see what sort of talented trade valuers we have on here before I reveal the actual figures.

Vehicle 1

A T3 TE50, 14 months old, 15k km, immaculate and pretty much stock. Original purchase price when new $61,860.

Vehicle 2

A current model LTD - 12 months old, 14k km, SatNav, roof and usual goodies also in mint condition. Original purchase price $77,106.

Obviously the poll is multi choice so that you can select a range for both - 1 selection for each only please.

Well, I saw a T3 TE50 with Brembos for $47k even before the Gt came out so that's an indication. And LTD, well you get $10k off at a minimum if you buy new anyhow.

Also, looking at the used market in its current wholesale condition I would love to be a buyer for such a car!

Just sold a TS50 T3, traded in on a XR8 ute. $44,000 inclusive of GST. It sold for $42,000 throught the dealer.T3 had 32,000 K's.The T3 was fully optioned. Also had herrod's 300 kw upgrade. Full herrod's exhaust,chip, lowered, and original rims unused. The car was $80,000 on the road plus mods.
