On face value, then, Crennan's technology rhetoric doesn't groove with reality. A six-speed automatic won't rest inside the GTS tunnel for another three years, then it will be shared across the entire Commodore range. And by then, Ford will have had a headstart with its six-speed automatic in GT and Falcon.
huh? six-speed auto in the GT? Did I miss something? Is this a possibility, or are the Motor boys smoking crack again?
The way things are going soon cars will be shifting as many gears as semi-trailers do up a hill. It seems the extra speeds in a gear are moot they seem only be of brag value. Considering a old kruddy thrashed C4 auto car whip a modern day Xr8 must be saying something? A quick shift auto would be better with a closer ratio setup perhaps.
No reason why Ford or GM won't have similar release dates on the 6 speed auto, as it's a joint development project between the two.(FF home page, 2 or 3 days ago)

Isn't that only in the US? And I think it was directed towards FWD platforms. I thing BTR are developing the six speed auto for the series 2 BAs. It will be across the range as I understand, not just GTs.
