Pete, if you've never had experience with chrome vinyl graphics before, let me just say:
DON'T GO CHROME!!!
I can say from past experience with chrome stripes and graphics on a previous car that it is a NIGHTMARE situation when you have them.
Unlike metal that has been chromed, vinyl graphics chromes are almost impossible to keep at a pristine finish after the first wash.
They mark and scratch, and trying to polish the marks out can make the scratches worse. They constantly need cleaning as they attrach fingerprints and smudges like a clean pane of glass, and this constant cleaning increases the rate at which you get marks and scratchs, thus causing much of the deterioration.
And once the micron thin clear plastic film that gives many chrome vinyils their luster is damaged, it has a finish that looks like someone's taken to your exhaust tip with a steelo pad!
Think really carefully before you go that route, and see if you can find someone else with them currently on their car that has had them for a while and see what the finish looks like.
Cheers
Jason
