Lets suppose the GTHO is a supercharged 5.4L 32 valve car.

I would guess its acceleration performance would be simular to the AMG E55 merc, with its 5.5L supercharged V8?

Would it be enough to make the GTHO the fastest (or equal fastest in a line)?

No idea what the weight of an E55 is, but you would have to say that that will be the big factor.

As i recall, the E55 is a bit of a porker too, interesting to see who comes in lighter.

If they come in about the same weight though, I would have to put my money on the E55. Nothing against a GTHO, the Germans are just too good at that sort of thing.

E55 has 368kw/700Nm and weighs 1835kg
The Ford 5.4L Supercharged has 375kw/680Nm

Even more interesting if the GTHO arrives with the expected new gearbox!!

Similar Power, similar weight and equally sophisticated (smooth) gearboxes (am talking the auto here)

The E55 does sub 5's for the 0-100k's. Have been lucky enough to have a drive and it certainly feels that quick!!! Maybe we can expect similar performance from a GTHO??

I for one would be VERY happy with a sub 5 second car!!!

I don't think there should be an Auto GTHO. I would presume the GTHO will have a new 6 speed Tremc or something gearbox.

I would also expect GTHO to weigh around the same or maybe a little less than the E55.

Power and torque beeing very close, one would think that straight line perforamce would be just as close.

I predict the following times for a Falcon which would weigh around 1800kg with that GT40 engine.
0-100: 4.7 seconds. 0-160: 11.2 seconds. 0-400metres: 12.8 seconds.

If those times are to be any where near accurate then I would be very pleased with them.

I have seen times for the new e55 at 12.3 secs, it also runs a 2.65 diff. Just imagine if it ran a 3.7 or whatever ford and holden are running these days?
