eek Faker GT's already!

Got so excitied whilst walking back to work at lunch, I thought I was watching a new FPV GT come over the hill and towards/past me. Nice big bonnet buldge, Acid Rush paint, retro black stripes down the sides.

But alas, as it was driving past I could then see the big XR8 badge on the side skirts. Someone has already taken to striping up their XR8 to look like a GT. GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it was a mistake of Fords to make so little difference to the look of a GT from a XR8. Love the look of both, but damn hard to pick the difference. At least with the T series cars, they were noticably different that the XR and lower model stablemates.
If someone is buying a $60k to $80K GT, they want it to look different from the XR series.
Just my opinion

Tep, saw an XR8 at Titans Ford a few weeks back with the GT stripes, it was bound to happen, now Ford will have to paint the power bulge a nice semi gloss black and stencil 290 on the side :)

Not that that couldn't be copied either though of course.

Hey, I think I saw the same XR8 with the stripes on it through Northbridge the other night. I'm sure it was a mock up as it only had a small wing.

Easy to tell the difference - from the back, the GT has the larger spoiler. From the front, the GT has a growl, rather than a smile (lower air intake on front bar).

And AP, isn't your pursuit the ute version of the GT?
