I had a think about this recently regarding FPV as a brand.
Do we want to replace the Ford logos on the front, rear and stearing wheel to FPV?
It's a valid question because at the moment the cars are Ford FPV with the two different badges on. Should FPV further differenciate itself by being exclusively FPV? Which will hopefully also enhance resale and make it a more desirable brand.
Ford FPV is just plain bad english FOrd Ford Performance Vehicles... sound like a stutter
FPV is a name in itself, maybe just throw the FPV in a blue oval and compromise, the letters are different but the logo says "Ford" even for the noobs that don't know what an FPV is
Commodores have Holden badges and HSV badges so I guess for years they have also been holden Holden Special Vehicles. Who cares. The vehicle you bought wasnt made by FPV it is a Ford it was then sent to FPV to have the appropriate option codes fulfilled (eg. GT, GTP ) It is a ford made vehicle transformed by FPV. A ford vehicle sent to FPV to be transformed into a superior performance product or GT. The company wants the uninformed to know it's a Ford underneath. At least thats the explanation I was given by an employee but he also may have been talking out of his a**e. But hey take the ford badge off it will be 20 grams lighter then. In the end what matters is that more and more the technology gone into your vehicle is making them stand proud and kick arse and turn heads and thats what its all about , the experience.
Opinions vary
You don't see BMW strip thier badge off and just have M or Mercedes-Benz remove thier potriding badge off the bonnet to be replaced with just AMG. Holden can change thier badhe if they like, no one really cares. Ford should not touch the Blue oval at the front of the car! FPV wheel centre caps and a badge on the bootlid is enough!

Reason: bad spelling
I don't think it really makes much difference. I agree with Pauls logic. It was born a Ford and then modified further at FPV. So why only have the one badge?
We all know it will take a few more years for FPV badge to gain street recognition that the much missed Tickford wings had, once the brand has more of a presence.
I'd probably go on to say that the desirability of owning an FPV will definitely be accelerated with the launch of the Typhoon, to complement the product range.

Honestly I think there is too much naming. Ford FPV GTP = too much badging. I don't like badges on a car. FPV stands for Ford Performance Vehicles, so if we have a FPV oval badge on the car we are not losing the Ford naming? Personally I think the GT/P badges are too big, something small and subtle would be better, one the back none on the sides.
