Thumbs up FPV Beating HSV on Resale Hands Down

According to Redbook, an early 2003 Clubsport is now getting $34,400 - $38,900 on trade and $38,100 to $43,400 private.

2003 FPV GT getting $40,400 - $45,100 on trade and $42,200 - $50,100 private.

I know HSV are the discount kings, so you can usually pick a Clubsport up cheaper than a GT, but still, sounds like FPV are more than holding their own on retained value.

Has anyone out there sold a GT, and if so, what sort of bucks are they fetching - are these Redbook estimates close to the mark?

Re: FPV Beating HSV on Resale Hands Down

I've been looking at series one GT's and series 2 HSV's and would agree the value appears to be higher with the FPV product. None of them are actually that good however for the owners, but you get that. On average a low km 'as new' GT will fetch between $47-50k privately. An equivalent Clubby start from around $39k. Bargain really. General modifications like exhaust etc make little to no difference to their value which is a good thing for buyers, but no so good for sellers.

The good buy I find is a 2003 GT-P which can be found from $55k. 2003 R8’s are going from $46k onwards which is the biggest price gap. For the same/similar of money as the 2003 GT-P you can haggle a late 2004 VZ 6.0 Clubsport. Amazing really.

Only thing I will say is the FPV models take longer to move than the HSV cars. 1), they are dearer, 2) there is less demand., 3) less appeal to the younger buyer who is stretching it to impress their mates!
