With the release of the XR5 i think maybe FPV should do something with it?? i can just imagine a tough FPV focus...wat you rekon?

It is already as fast as the WRX's, but not the STi's and EVO's. Remember this is a Ford product to fit in with the XR range, not an FPV product. That's to come I think The car is reported to be good for mid to low 6 seconds dash to 100km/h

This article also features to HSV Astra (gee that sounds funny) which is bee's d*ck more powerful but is priced in the mid $40k's.

oh 35k thats on the money they will sell a bunch of them if thats price. i thought they'd be like 42 ish line with the rex

I think the XR5 will need to be priced between 35 & 40K or it will be too expensive. The ST170 was way too expensive at 37K. I think the WRX is 41K & it has 4WD. An FPV version is a must & I reckon we could see one by the end of 2006 if Ford is serious about releasing the XR5 'early' next year. I'm pretty sure that the XR5 is gonna be basically an Australian Focus RS so if the UK comes up with a 4WD hi-po version we can expect it to hit our shores with FPV badges. If it comes in at around the 50K mark it's worth doing, & would give us an all-new cheaper way into an FPV product. Hope they do it.

The Focus was the standout car on display by Ford at the Sydney motor show. Lovely tangerine colour. It looked tough. With the price of fuel only going one way we will all aspire to drive one of these one day.

The smaller engined Astra made more kw's (just) than the Focus but the Focus had a heap more torque than the Astra. Power to weight ratio in the Focus would be awesome and yes its a low 6 secs to 100kph. 2.5lt 20valve 5 cylinders.

Not being a 4wd would make it dangerous in the wet.
