In the back of the new Street Machine, Ford issue I saw an ad for FPV merchandice, in particular a model GT-P (Finally GT-P stuff).
I thought this would be a good little gizmo to have on my office desk.
So off to www.fpv.com.au to order over the net but...... no FPV merchandice only a link to FPR.

So now the score for the FPV merchandice....

Sydney Motor Show 2003..... "Never heard of a GT-P we only do Ford stuff"
Melbourne Motor Show 2004..... "No GT-P stuff sorry"
Brisbane Motor Show 2004..... "No GT-P stuff, why not buy GT it is all the same"
V8 Supercars QLD Raceway 2004.... "No I don't think there will be any GT-P stuff"

Well ok, so you don't care about your customer base.....

Wandered over to one of the HSV merchandise stands and noticed 2 things:-
1) They had stuff for evey HSV model ever made.
2) They were selling shitloads of it, there were huge lineups

The only Ford stand with lineups was SBR.......

I did notice lots of family groups with Dad, Mum and the grebelers all wearing HSV theme matching clothing.
I saw bugger all FPV dressed family groups.

Come on FPV, get your act together. Do you really think that the only reason reason that HSV outsells you is because of their cars?

we were at barbagallo larst month and fpv had a 18 weeler and thare would have been 100 waiting and, we got plenty of GT stuff i dont no about GT-P,and the bigest crouds were out side SBR.I dont no what happend at QLD. go hard go BOSS 290. all the best johnny.

Definitely something needs to be done at events - the 2003 Bathurst 24hr comes to mind here. Garry Rodgers Motorsport had a semi trailer full of Holden/HSV merchandise.

All FPV had for anything if they existed there was a large banner with the Lion Tamer ad on it. That is hardly what I would call taming the lion.

Hopefully the initiative undertaken at Barbagallo recently will continue this trend through to the 24 hr this year.

Got to agree with you there,FPV definately need to pick up their merchandising and make it more accessible to the public, i managed to buy a GTP blanket the other day on EBAY.

I think you will find that there merchandise will pick up around the states as there new FPV/R shop is up and running so now they will concentrate on getting it out there on Race day.There is always new gear on there shelves so it won't be too long untill it goes out.
