FPV owners: would you buy again come trade in time?
There has obviously been much talk of late about FPV and their poor treatment of customers and their concerns. A poll shows around 25% of customers are not happy with their cars overall which is an atrocious reflection on Ford/FPV's performance IMO. What l am really curious to know is how many current FPV owners are considering purchasing again in the next 1-3 years. Everyone has a different level of acceptance of dissatisfaction before they will look elsewhere for their next purchase. No doubt some of the blue bloods will buy again no matter what. l have seen RACV or similar surveys in the past asking vehicle owners if they would buy the same brand again and its not uncommon to see mid 90%'s for Merc and BMW owners for example. Why wouldn't FPV be targeting the same level of customer satisfaction? Will they ever get there?
Personally l find the idea of a BA2 GT-P with a 5 or 6 sp auto and a few other tweaks very enticing, but when l think about the way my cars issue has been handled and the treatment of many other here, l sometimes feel l must be mad to even consider such a purchase. Its a lottery as to whether you get a good one. While l am not a blue blood and want the best car regardless of the make, there are not many other options that appeal. HSV may get a look in (please no jibes about oil usage etc). A quick visit to the LS1 forums occasionally shows that HSV owners are a much more satisfied bunch; HSV must be doing something right. My front runner however for the same money as a GT-P is a 2 yr old BMW 530. But then l think of the trade off between grunt vs refinement and wonder if Ford deserve (yet) another chance!!
So, will current FPV owners buy a Ford again come purchase time? if not, what else will you be considering?
Re: FPV owners: would you buy again come trade in time?
I had a look at other cars before i got my GT. Ive had 5 XRs prior to buying the GT and the only car i considerd was the clubby R8, but even then i wouldnt buy because i have blue blood!. I just love my Fords and so far have been happy with all of them and to answer your question. Yes i would buy Ford/FPV again.
Re: FPV owners: would you buy again come trade in time?
i'll certainly be getting another Ford ute when i decide to upgrade this current one
I have had minor issues, no service or dealer issues, and the car has made me as happy as larry! Also have a good r'ship with the dealer so i get more than well looked after

Re: FPV owners: would you buy again come trade in time?
This is a very tough one to answer. Last year, after along time with the Blue, I went and tried the Red, to my surprise, value for money was very good, the Berlina was a great car, no issues, grunty, and very reasonably priced, the Clubbie was good value as well, had some problems, but not that major.
So after trying the Red, I came back with a vengence, 2 GTs, top of the FORD tree, but who can argue, the experience is now looking very costly and painfull.
As im now serious about getting rid of these 2 headaces, resale is a very big problem, as for the Holdens, I lost very minimul, yet the Fords are looking bad, nobody wants them in the trade from what I saw yesterday, probably up to $20k drop in 8 weeks.
So to answer the question, mmmmmmm, let me think, thinking, thinking, NOT A BLOODY CHANCE IN HELL, I will have the transfusion, im off to see the Doc ASAP.

Re: FPV owners: would you buy again come trade in time?
I'll be weighing up my options no doubt. Even though I've had great service and support from the dealer and 16 of the last 21 (or 20 from 40 in total) cars have been Fords there will be a number of factors that may well influence the decision. These might include:
1. The availability at the time of suitable Blue Oval replacements - there isn't likely to be a Moostang replacement with a Ford badge and unless there is a GT-HO or a significantly improved GT-P then I will look elsewhere.
2. The performance of those replacements against their peers - at present the pinnacle of Ford performance is basically flogged by their Holden rivals - this isn't a situation I will continue to tolerate forever.
3. The current rate of depreciation - not that the Red corner does a whole lot better but that might lead me to the AMG product range.
The slant will be towards Ford if it at all possible but there comes a point where loyalty meets stupidity and I have no intention of crossing that line. Or then maybe I'll just hang on to what I've got for awhile longer.
Re: FPV owners: would you buy again come trade in time?
Yes i also would buy another Ford / FPV car again ,i have had no real bad issue's with Ford and always had a good run out of them. They are really good value for the money especially if you compare them against Mercedes or BMW,if you really want to get a top quality class car then go for the German made ones but be prepared to fork out your hard earned money.
Cheers John
