I picked up the car today after getting the camchain tensioners replaced and the scrapes under the front splitter painted out. I came home and cut some of that thick stick on number plate protector plastic to fit underneath on the outer edges and underneath on each inside where the lower mouth opens up.
I had to go into the city and on the way home pulled into the shopping centre nudged up to the kerd and as according to Murphys Law, SCRAPE!!!!!!!! on the lower inner centre. Cursed under my breath, got out and had a look, nothing but scraped stick on plastic, it was a decent hit too. This stuff is excellent and comes from supacheap at about $30 with more than enough in the packet to do the job .

I think it is Altrex or Aunger, I threw the packet. It is called Stick On Number Plate Cover and is a thick clear vinyl film (about 3mm) and tough as nails. You can get it at any SUPACHEAP store and most car accessory places. BLOODY GOOD STUFF

Great idea. You can also buy the same stuff in strip form for headlight protectors!

That is also a great idea as the only headlight protectors you can buy to fit the GT range are XR ones with the XR logo embeded inside the plastic. I think it looks pretty silly to have to have XR logo items on a GT.

PS if you are thinking of buying the XR ones and using ecetone or thinners as you cannot get it off and you end up with a cloudy section still containing the XR logo.
