GT or F6 Tornado?!

Hey guys, I need a little advice on which way to go.

I want to Novate Lease either a GT or an F6 Tornado.

Im very close to dedicating myself towards a GT.
However the lure of an F6 Tornado is pulling me away from the GT because of its lower repayments.

This is only a rough estimate as I calculated from Mcmillan Shakespeare website.
$61350 GT: $1,455/month 4yrs, $21,473 residual
$54000 F6: $1,187/month 4yrs, $19,250 residual

Pros of GT:
It’s a GT! (Prestige)
Better resale value at the end of the 4 year lease I'd think
More versatility in the future (ie. kids)

Cons of a GT:
Higher repayments
Not as quick as the F6
Luxury vehicle tax (which I haven’t accounted for)

Pros of F6:
Cheaper repayments (about $60/wk)
Quicker
Unique ute
No Luxury Tax

Cons of F6
Resale value/depreciation
Less future-proof re: kids
Not a V8

At the end of 4 years considering both have a similar residual, which one do you think I will do better with?
I am pretty certain a GT will be worth closer to $30k after 4 years than an F6 ute will.
That, and the fact that it’s a GT is the only thing keeping me from doing the more responsible thing and getting the cheaper F6 Tornado.

I know I will be getting an Xtreme Edit whichever way I go, and because of that I am swaying towards the F6.

What are peoples opinions?!

Cheers.

Why not an F6 Typhoon? Cheaper than the GT, and is future proof.

Only a fraction cheaper than the GT, and its still over the Luxury Vehicle threshold. By the time I option it up it'll be well over $60k.

Yeah Im swaying that way.
I really love Mandarin colour and since they're not using Mandarin after July, I figure if I order very soon then I'll have a very rare Mandarin F6 Tornado.

Re: GT or F6 Tornado?!

I'll break to trend here and say the GT. The F6 is a great car no doubt but if your in it for the long haul (4 years) it's important you get the car you can live with and enjoy for that same period. Fads with turbo power and different models will come and go in that timeframe, but if your 'spirit' is with BOSS GT (which it sounds like it is), the turbo thing may soon become a novality that will wear off. For the car lover, there's more to owning and enjoying your car than just obtaining outright speed. How you feel about it, what sound it makes and how it looks etc all become very important to you. The F6 is fast, but the GT's isn't no slouch either.

Re: GT or F6 Tornado?!

I have driven a typhoon but not a GT (only driven an XR8), but for my money, go the GT. In my opinion, it has more character and appeal (can't go past the engine note)

Re: GT or F6 Tornado?!

The missus reckons you should go the GT (it looks better), while I would go for the ute (it goes better, especially with the edit)
