How many GT and GTP owners are sick and tied of seeing XR8's set up to look like a GT. This in my opion should not be supported by ford dealers. I saw an XR8 at Eastern Creek on sunday that was so close. Even had a GT look alike spoiler. The only difference was the copy did not have a SAE data No. on the led light. I spoke to FPV yeserday about this and they are not impressed. We have XR8's at dealers in sydney with GT stripes and now XR8's at dealers with GT spoilers and stripes. Where is the support from FPV dealers who sell the real thing. If you are not an FPV dealer for whatever reason don't basterise the industry. Afterall you are still FORD dealer . As a foot note I beleive any dealer fitting geniune GT or GTP parts to a after maket car will be brought to task by FPV.

How do you think we feel (xr8 owners) when you see a NA XR6, the only way to tell the 2 is the bonnet and this is Ford itself!

Last week i saw an XR6 turbo with a bonnet bulge. How would he get a XR8 bonnet for his XR6? They arent options are they?

Hear hear rod c,The BA XR8 has been short changed in this new model line up.
At least the AU kept some point of difference.
The Real thing IS the Real thing and the trained eye will know, the untrained couldn't give a stuff. You know where's the majority
As for copys I couldn't care less, why bother, if a customer likes to do that its their money. They wish they could have the Real thing.
Is a salesman going to stop a sale because of FPV lookalikes or copys ? No its sales the more the better.
I'm sure some purist BeeMeer/Merc owner feels the same of his M3 and AMG etc

What was the point of difference between a AU XR6 and a AU XR8??
There is more difference in the BA range, the bonnet buldge is very noticable

AU XR6 was a VCT engine, not a standard six.

wheels were different on most of them, yep thats all the diff is the bonnet bulge

i knw the engine was a VCT engine, sorry I thought you meant distinguishing body styling, will have to go back to my reading class

We are not talking about what ford design, but what some ford dealers are trying to do to sell cars. Whats the point of having a FPV dealer network if the dealers that don't want to sell FPV can just sell copies. I guess if you can't afford the real thing then buy the copy. Is that what these dealers are saying. Are they covered by Fords warranty as well.
