During the test drive, i noticed the trip computer recorded the cars average at 18. something l/ 100km
Our Grange tends to display 15.7 and thats with a slightly heavy foot -any GT owners out there getting better averages than 18? That dont just sit on a freeway at 110 with the cruise on, but a good mix of realistic driving

I am getting around 17.5 around town (GT manual in Melbourne) and I was amazed to get 11.0 on a recent country run. This is from the display, although I believe these are not always accurate so best to do a manual check as well.
I found consumption improved slightly as I put more km's on. I am now on 8,000.
I have posted these before but again....
Sustained speed...
110-120 km/h 11.5-12 l/100km
150 km/h 15-16 l/100km
180 km/h 17-18 l/100km
220 km/h 23l/100km
250 km/h LOTS/100km
around town (brisbane and darwin) 13-14l/100km
manual GT-P stock 32,000 km
P.S. the high speed runs with the exception of the 250km/h were done over 200-300km runs in the NT in 35+ degrees using BP or Shell PULP (no 98 up there)
The 250km run only lasted about 5 mins as the pain in my left shoulder became too much. (was getting punched by the navigator)

Here is wisdom.
Let him that hath understanding count the number of the BEAST:
for it is the number of a F6 Typhoon; and its number is 0217.
Around Town - driven hard 19-21 l/100
Around Town - driven modestly 15-17 l/100
Highway 120 kM/H on cruise - got an average of 11.1 l/100 on a trip from Canberra to Port Macquarie (700 km) via Sydney - including some City stuff. Considering my auto VT HSV (195i) used to only get 10.5 on similar trips, I'm pretty happy.
As for the accuracy of the GTP fuel comp.:
I fill to the absolute brim every time - which is a pain as the last 5 litres takes just about as long as the first 60!
I have compared the bowser reading (twice now) to the manual calc of (km travelled divided by 100) x (what the fuel comp. says is the average l/100) = fuel used.
The worst case was a variance of 0.6l - accurate enough for me!
One advantage my old HSV had (the only one, other than keeping my Holden dealer's service department in work) was the fuel comp. would do the "Litres used" calc for you. You could also calibrate the fuel comp. after comparing the fuel used reading vs. the total of all fuel put in - over a few tanks, to adjustit's accuracy. I don't think the GTP's fuel comp. will allow user calibration - minor sacrifice!
Mines done about 4800klm but seems to be fairly heavy on use averaging 17/19 lts/100 around town.Im sure it will improve as i clock up more Klm,anyone who buys a GT should'nt really complain about the fuel being used afterall they are a performance car and i just love driving this beast.
Cheers John
