BA GT 945

Just picked up my GT today and have done 200k so far, but I notice that as it sits idling there is an unusual and noticeable shake that can be felt through the whole car. Is this normal ?
Or perhaps the Boss 290 has a more aggresive cam profile ?
The reason I ask is that my mates BA XR8 does not idle like this and before I take it back to the dealer I wouldnt mind some input from anyone who has the same concern or any advice.

Well depends on what u call noticeable shake.... They shake as they idle extremely low

It probably feels more like a slight miss at idle therefore giving this shake effect. Perhaps it is normal and I am concerned about nothing.
Anyway I will get it checked out at the 3000K inspection, it wont take that long to clock those K's up in this beast.

It is completely normal!.. It IS the 290 cam profile... Deliberately engineered to cause this lumpy idle!
FPV advertised this early days, comparing it to the XYGT's idle.

Concerned??? My only concern is it doesn't shake enough. It's fantastic though and I wouldn't have the XR8 version after sitting there and feeling the lumpiness of a REAL engine. Superb. What we need is a bit more valve overlap to make these things sound super-shhickk!!!!

REAL engine!! you fpv guys make me laugh. The last REAL engine Ford ever built was the 351 clevo, ask my mate with his ba gt what he thinks of his "Real" engine. we have had 5 drags over the 1/4 mile and i beat him by a car and a half if not more every time. his not impressed at all with his REAL engine.

Must be the engine, not the weight difference. Your modified CLEVO vs. a stock BOSS.
Try it again with enough weight in your tray to bring you up to the same as a Pursuit or GT as needed.
Of course you won't. That wouldn't be fair would it?. You might lose.
The FASTEST clevo ever made by Ford was the Phase 3. It was over a second slower than the BA GT even though it weighed several hunderd kilos less.

sorry for up setting you flaps but my clevo has had a bit more work than a phase 3 which i know is not fair. his ba gt has exhaust cold air ect which i would had thought might help make it a closer match and as far as the weight thing is concerned that's has got nothin to do with me that his car weighs nearly 2 ton. if anyone is living in a fantasy it is some of fpv guys.
