GT Issues

I have had my manaul GT for a couple of weeks now and have noticed a few things...just wondering how the rest of you are going.

1. Gear stick rattle/viration....mainly in third but does happen in other gears

2. the hand brake no engaging properly and releasing itself

3. the strong smell....a bit like petrol...but its okay when not having flow through ventilation on

4. and of course still a problem with bubbles in the stripes

Re: GT Issues

1. Normal. Comes under the "they're all like that" justification which of course makes it okay (cough). Mine does it in neutral AND every gear.

2. Not aware.

3. Not right. get it checked.

4. Is your car mercury or lightning?

Re: GT Issues

I had the no. 3 in my EF V8, car always stunk of petrol, in the end it was traced to a one way valve in the breather of the fuel tank being put in backwards, changed it around, never ever had the smell again.
And I hate to say it again, I love my Manual Gearbox, no rattles, no vibration, not in neutral, not in gear, God I must have got the 1 in a 1,000 by the sounds of it.

Re: GT Issues

Yep, have got 1 just as you describe it.

Also have pretty bad driveline shunt. Hope to get it checked into at the 3000km check up, although l am sure they will try and brush me off. An obvious cost cutting move by Ford. Spoils an otherwise awesome car.
