I applaud Fords decsion to bring back the GT as a regular model. However why use the GT-P acronym to represent the best of the best.

Surely the legendary GT HO moniker would stir the hearts and souls of Ford fans everywhere.

Looking forward to the Sydney Motorshow to see it in the flesh.

Watched a great Video the other day, "History of Ford at the Great Race". Reminded me of why I grew up a Ford man, hasn't been a lot to get excited about in recent V8 Supercars. Hopefully the introduction of the Barra will bring about a change of fortunes across the board.

Im thinking the same thing too is the GT-P the GTHO or is the GTHO still to be revealed? I hope Ford brings back the 'King' of Aussie roads once more as well. The GTHO and the legend of it would surely make Ford/FPV bring back the name even for just sentimentality sake and revival of the legend. Its very good PR I think. Anyway as Lord Geoff told us Fords cars will essentially outpower Holden to such a extent they will be tearing their hairs out. With a guesstimated - 330kw GT, a 350-370kw GT-P and a God knows how powerful GTHO on the spec list the future is very bright I think...

I thought that the only difference between the GT and GTP was going to be the level of trim???

I.E. same engines, same power, only the GTP will have higher eqipment levels, much like the TE50 vs the TS50. Less weight will make the GT quicker than the GTP. I expect about 330kw for both vehicles.

As for the GTHO..............

If the GT sits at 330kw a GTHO would have to pushing past the 350kw mark. And given that the technology already exists supercharging / turbocharging seems likely. Especially when Prodrive have so much experience in the area of forced induction!!

I think if the GTHO were to appear, it would probably be in a limited edition.

So
GT = R8
GT-P = GTS
GT-HO = GTS-R (if it appears, which i think it will at some point)

The GT has to battle the GTS, its just the way these things are done!

RICHO, the GT and GTP will differ in outputs. GTP is said to be a "performance spec" of the GT.
I could definately see a GTHO in the lineup, but in limited numbers.

I think FPV should release a GTHO Sprint. Take all the extras out, and make the 350kW available for just under the Luxury Tax threshold so my lease payments are reasonable.
