GT-P KW's

Does anyone know how many KW's the GT-P spec cars will have?

The new Ford brochure for GT & GT-P & Pursuit vehicles says they all use the same Boss 290 KW motor but for the GT-P car the brochure states "The GT-P packs the same potent V8 engine as the GT with further performance and luxury enhancements as standard".

Am I to understand this means > 290 KW's.

It is interesting to note that you can't get a number plate from NSW RTA with GTP 300 /310 /320 combinations.

GT-P will be 290kw but basically replaces a TS-50 with eg...better brakes..etc...= better performance....compared to a GT which will replace the TE-50.

Pretty sure it's 290kW for the GT-P, but we all have been wrong before.

Yeah, the HO on an XY was only supposed to mean Handling Options but it didn't have the same KW's as a standard GT.

Anyway, what does the P in GT-P stand for?

Is it P for Performance or P for Prodrive? I can't find an explanation for it in the brochures.

Presumably, the GT-P will cost more than a GT, and I'd be surprised if you don't get more go for your doe rather than more whoa.

And I'd still like to know who has snapped up those 300/310/320 number plates and why. Very interesting!

u wanna know why theyve got those plates already.
its because of the money. Think of it, a guy gets those 3 plates at bout 150 woteva they cost and the GTP comes out with either 300/310/320kw ppl will be payin top dollar to get that plate off him. So the guy has spent say 500 for the 3 plates all up. He will sell the single plate with the correct kw for over $7000


the guy has made a profit of over $6500 for just using his head just like that.

Thats the obvious reason - demand will determine the price.

But the point is, do they know something (inside info maybe) or are they just speculators who will make a profit just as you correctly point out.

I,m betting the GT-P will have more than 290KW

HO was initially 'Hi Output'.
But Ford changed it at the last moment to try and avoid the 'supercar scare'.

It'll always meen 'Hi Output' to me.
