Mario with his magic spanner from New Oak has done it again!!!
I took it into Mario (& Chad) during the week with one complaint.
RATTLE RATTLE RATTLE
It would happen only when I hit a small pot hole or a speed hump (at speed). It would seem to start from under the front of the car and travel down the drivers side of the car.
After carefully examining the underbody with a rubber mallet, Mario found the cause. It was the Engine Oil cooler pipe which was bouncing and hitting the bottom radiator support.
Here are the photos:
This is looking through the front lower grill - left hand side. The pipe is the one which looks like a 'porky pine' after a bushfire.
A special foam was applied with the hands of Mario.
Then a zip tag to hold everything in place. (color matched to car)
After the zip tag was cut to size and a final inspection, the road test came back with glowing results.
I'm not sure if other BAs are affected by this but the rattle would happen on sudden or sharp bumps and sound like its coming from the zorst area.
I’m now a very Happy 'new oak' camper

I have a banging noise when i do a left hand turn under acceleration, sound like a noise in the diff, but it doesn't do it all the time. These guys at New Oak sound like they are really switched on. Gotta take mine to Etheridge for it's 3000k service, getting a free oil change and filter, otherwise i would take it to New Oak.

Take everything with a Grain of Salt. gtmovie.com is getting some press time now it is close to finish (i'm guessing) and with a little bit of back scratching some good publicity goes a long way.
I got shit out of New Oak Ford - even from Chad - his business card was in my wallet and I was a believer, until they told me crap about the BA XR6 manual gearbox. Refused to look at it - refused to re-test the car.
Sorry but I can only see this as back-scratching advertising. Don't expect this sort of treatment, consider it lucky if you get it.

45,000km service coming up - and i'll be asking for a sizable list of fixes:
* Gearbox (3rd time)
* Steering click (5th time)
* Brake Shudder (2nd time, and has the applied "Fix")
* etc...

Cams290..Mine used to do this also! (until I learnt to secure the esky fulla crownies properly!)
As for ianmcginly comments.... Hmmmmmm!!!
Maybe, there IS just a grain of salt there!!... I mean how bloody trivial & basic is a bit of foam around the oilcooler pipe? .. AND to film it step by step?? AND.... to be allowed to do so?? I had a hard enuf time getting a pic of my bodgy camchain tensioners at my dealer.

How else could you take it?......honestly...finding a rattle in a car isn't what you could say... thread worthy and to put in a rap for a mechanic swinging a mallet armed with a bit of sponge rubber and then the car returning from a road test with *glowing results*.......c'mon guys we mighten drive GTs but don't treat like idiots!

Also to read from the Warranty handbook of your BA Series Falcon - Bumps and rattles will be fixed at commercial rates and are not covered by factory warranty.
Okay so thats not verbatim, but its in there.
