Just a quick question to any GT owners or anyone in the know, are the GT stripe colour combinations dictated by Ford? Like if you wanted, say black GT with orange stripes, do you reckon it could be arranged?

What are the aftermarket options in this department?

Yeh aftermarket is the only way if you want a custom colour. But seriously i think they look better if they just come with the factory ones, aftermarket sometimes looks cheap and nasty and really ruins the whole effect. If I ever had enough dosh to buy such a car id make sure they were in a box in the boot, thats the best place for em!

I was thinking of how good a black GT would look with blood orange stripes (using the stripes that they use on phantom or lightning strike)

There are some after market guys that do the stripes like i have on my Pursuit.
The stripes i have are made by 3M and have clear bits on the ends around the guards where the stones may chip them.
I personally think that if you are going to do it 100% properly, the only way is to have them painted on, but thats just my opinion !

Worst aftermarket stripes ever? Someone with an acid rush BA XR6 (may have been a T) had 4 black stripes running bonnet to boot over the top (2 thick ones on inside, 2 thin ones on outside)

But theoretically, if i had a normal black GT and i asked my dealer nicely, they could have the stripes ordered in as replacements? that is, if they are actually decals or are they painted on?

the worst stripes ever were actually a stock white AU that was here at passlow ford a fair while ago for sale....with 2 big blue cobra stripes from bonnet to boot!

They are decals,but if you get them from FPV they have to match the color code to as in what color stripe you can get.
Hope that makes sense lol
