Over the last few weeks I've noticed a lot of non-GT cars going around with the stripe package. I've seen an stock XR 6 with the stripes, including GT decals. I've also seen XR 6s and 8s with plain stripes, without any decals. Just recently I saw a couple of cars with the GT stripes but with "XR" written where the GT or GT-P symbol normally goes.

Does anyone know whether this has become a Ford option or whether this is a non-factory after market thing, or, a combination of both?

I know my dealer said they could do it for me if i wanted too, i think alot of the other dealeres offere it as an option too, not from factory though.

theres a few where i live. some look OK but some it doesnt suit it properly.

If you can't afford a GT, don't try to copy one, it turns a nice XR into a tryhard car imo.

I too have personally seen HSV's with a twin stripe package, atleast they could just keep it ford.!!!

Pretty much every dealer offers it as an option - something about customer demand I would presume.

Wait till BA 2 comes out and XR's get the GT pedal covers. Boy aren't you all gonna have the shits...
