NOt really a fair statement. When you run a business that relies on hundresd of workers and your paying white coat wankers to make important decisions and they decide to use something other then what was supplied in the form of a circlip its a little hash to condem an enitre company. It was a mistake. A mistake thats cost them alot of money, bad publicity and lots more. Like ive said before.. The only mistake apart from the clutch that Ford made was not Making this car the flag ship of there fleet. Fitting brembos standard, GTP style seats, More radical body kit and making it 300 KW with 700 NM of torque and charging 80k for it.

Thats how the typhoon should have been released. Once youve driven a editted car with nothing more then a edit... The mind boggles. There is no match for it in bang for bucks.

Driving down the freeway with a 10 pound program and bring in third gear and apsolutly SMASHING a holden 300 KW coupe of the road like it wasnt moving and all this from 2000 rpm... the look on the driver of the canary commodore... PRICELESS.. Thats the simple solution and reason why the typhoon is all that.. The torque....Its just unbelieveable.

Re: GT vs Typhoon performance

true, but i am condeming Ford in general !!

they have faults with all there vehicles, weather its the Gearboxes, Diffs, Engines, Paint, Clutches, there not on a good role, the worst part is if there is a fault they blame it on the drivers and State that there is nothing wrong with the cars that they design...

Have you driven a Holden lately?
Ford has some problems and so does Holden its a matter of how bad and how many or how frequent they surface.
I'd rather be in the Ford anyday.
Drive a F6 and you will see what simon means about "smooth" power output ..awsome... Get that with a holden? I dont think so! and as for the clutch it has a circlip fault that is probably worth @ $2 and cost Ford $2 million with lost sales and bad publicity but it wont deter the die hard blue bloods from buying one.
F6 with 300rwks with no more than an edit and $58k purchase price = the best bang for bucks in any country in any mans terms.

Re: GT vs Typhoon performance

yeah, i agree, but lets say u go buy a Berlina VY 30,000kms for $30,000
as a friend has

$1800.00 to get it from 235kw to 300kw!!!

I only wish i could get that kind of increase outa the GT-P for 1800.00!!!

I agree that there are faults with all cars, just the way the dealers and ford deal with em...

since we took our car to peter warren smithfield things were happining, now the car is almost micky mouse just gotta fix a tyre and its magic... so dealer experience is worth quite a lot, from my learnings

Not wrong Jason. Just for your reference, the 235 to 300kw on the VY is largely achieved by the LS1 edit. The same is 'now' available for the GT's as well for similar money. The largest gains in edit tuning appear to be achieved by the F6's & XR6T's. Ask Simon from Xtreme for the output gain details.

BTW, I sent you an email recently.

Scary thing is, that my car for example was in reduction modes, with the edit it picked up 44 rwkw and droped 8 tenths at the drags, Wonder how many otheres are out there in this predicament and dont even know.

On the average GT you will gain 20 rwkw, a turbo falcon is more like 50 rwkw.

Happy days i say.
