Re: GT vs Typhoon performance

hang on but if an XR8 13.6 with 5spd, then the current GT will at least do the same with a decent driver? there for the GT and XR8 with 6spd should be quicker again.. i think it will be closer than expected.

Re: GT vs Typhoon performance

In all regards, especially when a warranty is cleared the Typhoon will demolish the GT.

Re: GT vs Typhoon performance

Well, i will have to get my 2 bobs worth here. I drove a G9 last night for about 15 mins. In the first 30secs, let me tell Jem (who posted this thread) and everyone else that cares to listen, that it is the fastest manual i have ever driven. (SL55 AMG) doesnt count cause its an auto. But the rush of G9 is the closet thing to SL55 that i have EVER DRIVEN!!!. Oh by the way, i have driven the odd car or 2. Faster than a mk2 boss, Just wait & see

Re: GT vs Typhoon performance

What is a G9??
I also think that the typhoon will be quicker at least until the GT is upgraded again.

So we're assuming then that it is close to 4.7 secs for the 100 Klm/h sprint !!!!!!!!!

See merc specs below :

The power curve is just as steep, reaching its peak of 350 kW/476 hp at 6100 rpm. No other current Mercedes passenger car can match the new SL 55 AMG in terms of pure power.

On-the-road performance is equally impressive: it takes the new AMG Roadster just 4.7 seconds to accelerate to 100 km/h from a standing start. And only a little over 16 seconds for the red speedometer needle to reach the 200-km/h mark. The speed is piled on until the microcomputer cuts in at precisely 250 km/h to electronically limit the power delivery. The scale on the speedometer goes up to 300 km/h, showing just what this exhilarating high-performance sports car is theoretically capable of.

I said the way it delivers its power. 4.7 no chance in hell.
Low 5's a given. Embrace the car for what it is. The quickest most refined high performance sedan ever produced in this country.

Yes i remember when the GT specs got released and every-one was expecting GTS figures at the time. The Typhoon will be a very quick car but i won't hold my breath for a mid to low 13 sec pass.By adding the figures the Typhoon should be around the 13.7-13.8 sec mark over the Standing 1/4 but it will be an awesome track or circuit car.Anyway not far now can't wait when these things come out just gives us Ford buyers so many new options on which car to buy next
Cheers Alex.
