Had this posted in another thread but thought i'd post it out in the open.

How about calling Fords next supercar the GT-HP.
HP follows HO alphabetically, implies high performance and suits the FPV range so far = GT, GT-P, GT-HP
Keep this name until the next supercar scare or what ever else kills off these cars (might have to skip HQ if it gets to that stage) and start the "phase" naming from the beginning. Keep production down to 250 a year and update to the next phase every 2 years.
This way, ford has a link to the GT-HO without destroying the legend the Australian motoring world holds so dear.

my slogan for this beast (375-450kW) is:
"the evolution of the revolution"

BTW. has to be V8 (i'll take V10 tho

I prefer GT-HO too. i just don't want Ford to relaese a car that could possibly "down grade" the GT-HO name.
After 30 years, and "legend" status, i'm not sure if a small car company like Ford Aus can still produce a car to meet our expectations while following ADR and not putting the pollies off side.
It needs a link to GT-HO, but i don't want to see that name used unless Ford is prepared to release the ultimate supercar.
With rumors of Holdens/HSV's next engine capable of over 350kW, Ford has to be prepared to release a car with some big numbers. How crap would it be if Ford's GT-HO gets whipped by a HSV a few months after it is released. It's going to destroy the HO name. And i seriously doubt it will be the worlds fastest four door with BMW M5 V10, Audi RS6 (heard over 400kW) and Merc coming out with some powerful engines. But i'm not after the worlds fastest car, just a car that can compete on the world stage and whoop HSV.

While I totally agree with this statement, I believe releasing a 6 cylinder GTHO would be a disaster for the name.

Maybe a Turbo 6 GTHP prior to a GTHO? Sounds better than a XR6 Turbo!

I'm beginning to think Ford should ditch the whole GTHO name altogether and concoct a new one!! Perhaps that badge does only belong in the past...

yeap it most certainly does...I think its unfortunate that people (and maybe this is fords fault) still go on and on about the GTHO's. Yeah it 'was' a kick arse car, and it would be nice to see the name back again, but thats it, its all about nostalgia. People really have to get over it.

GT-HP sounds sweet to me.

Either way who gives a toss about what it is called, it could be Fudge-ya-mumma for all I care.....just build the damn thing already!!

i was lead to believe the ho stood for "handling option " so maybe ho wouldn't be appropriate unless all there going to do is make go around corners a little faster
