G'day all,
I've just had my handbrake adjusted on my BAXR8 by the dealer. It has never held on a steep hill from new.Unfortunately the going rate to adjust it is $75 as it's a difficult job.
I've heard reports the handbrake is a crappy design and it won't be long before it needs adjusting yet again.I guess this is more noticeable with my car as it's a manual.
Also have had a slight sump leak. They fixed this saying some bolt threads needing resealing. They are not blind bolts.I'll be checking this to make sure it has stopped the leak.
And they put two brand new Dunlop SP3000 tyres on for nothing due to the cracking on the sidewalls that is so widely discussed.I was sort of happy with that as they had 46 000 klms on them and were due to be replaced in the next 5000-10000 klms.Apart from the cracking sidewalls I think they are pretty good tyres.Excellent wear and they hold on fairly well.
Brake pads are 70% still front and back,so no complaints here.
Ron
I use my h/brake all of the time! Never been adjusted and works fine. Considering Ive had the car over 2 years and apply the h/brake at least twice a day, I can't complain.
