Has Ford gone backwards with T56?

I raise thise question mainly because yesterday at Eastern creek there was two holdens one a Monaro and another a Ute both cars had to be towed fron the circuit because their shifters broke mid afternoon yet of all the tremac's a total of 12 not one had a problem.So has FPV/Ford gone backwards to try to get some better figures? Should they just gone for a diff ratio change only as i cant see the box doing wonders on the strip for those magazine jerno's?

Yeah but how much extra power were they putting through it? What was the quality of the clutch like? How good a shifter are these people? Perhaps Holden are using a different generation of T56 than what Ford is having?

45,000km service coming up - and i'll be asking for a sizable list of fixes:
* Gearbox (3rd time)
* Steering click (5th time)
* Brake Shudder (2nd time, and has the applied "Fix")
* etc...

I don't think Ford will go backwards with this Box it will be a better box and car to drive with the 6speed.I wouldn't compare it with the Holden box as a few things in it have been changed.
Cheers Alex.

It broke cause Holdens are garbage. Seriously it could just be a coincidence or crap drivers trying to shift too hard maybe.

The Fords and the Holdens are usinf different ratios, though the VZ Monaro will use the same T56 as the one in the Fords

Re: Has Ford gone backwards with T56?

Even the XR6T & XR8 etc use different ratios I've heard. Can't wait til we get some doing some time tests(400m's etc).

Re: Has Ford gone backwards with T56?

We've only been told of a different "gearset", which could only be down to the different diff ratio
