So basicly we have come nowhere in 30 years despite FI, 4 valves and dohc. Pathetic I say

Julian 290 BHP is like 216kw at the most so the new Gt is 290kw and complies with all the new environment rules.
Plus the boss would have been a lumpy mother compared to the smooth beauty we have today.

A lot of American Muscle Cars were understated in their power outputs. This is because they couldn't get insured if the horsepower exceede the cubic capacity.

Examples such as the 425hp Dodge 426 Hemi. They were in fact over 500 hp from the factory.

The Boss 302 was well over 350 hp but quoted as 290hp. The 440 Magnum was rated at 390hp (with 6 Pack carbs) but well over 440 hp from the factory.

335hp for a 428 Cobra Jet - I don't think so! Well over 450 hp.

This is how it was back then. To be condescending about Hi-Po cars with OHV, Carbs etc is just ignorant and falls into the Techno-Ricer category! (Sorry another pet hate)
