Launch Technique
I was wondering what technique most used to get the best out of their GT/GT-P?
I took my big bus down the quarter on Saturday...
2.273 60 foot 14.44 @159km/h - bounced off limiter before each change
2.276 60 foot 14.37 @163km/h - not enough revs on take-off
2.443 60 foot 14.64 @163km/h - went to sleep on start line
2.256 60 foot 14.14 @156km/h - was racing and backed off, but still broke out on a 14.4 dial in.
The last run I held it on the handbrake, dialled up 3000 rpm then let out the clutch pretty quick, but didn't dump it. She axle tramped a bit, but took off the quickest.
I was disappointed not to hit a 13, you can feel how heavy these things are when taking off. I have an EL XR8 (standard) that hit 14.9 easily, time after time, with 1.9 second 60 foot times.
How does everyone else leave the line - technique wise?
