Re: Nunber Plate Stolen

Had the same thing happen to me a few years ago. Mine was just a regular plate, not personalised though and they only took the front one. First thing i did was ring the police and was then told i had to go to the RTA and hand in the other plate.

Re: Nunber Plate Stolen

Unless you actually saw someone take it then it was lost..
Tell them it was lost and I think it was $30 I had to pay to get it re-made.
If it was stolen (which no one can say for sure) then they may take it out of circulation

Re: Nunber Plate Stolen

Sorry to hear the story.

A good bet, is to to secure the plate onto the car with security screws.
Place some putty ove the screw heads to hide the pattern.

Sounds a bit extreme. But if they want the plate that bad, they will have to work for it.

Regards

Paul

i was thinking of framing the plate so thay can only be mounted from the inside but that could cause more sh#t.but on a good note, the wife went to the licencing centre today & we can get new plates made at a price $154.00 we have to give 1 back and get 2 remade, lucky we didnt try and sell our other plate BOSS BAGT so we have that on now for 3 weeks, so its not as bad as i thought,so i would say some kid will have 1 RAPID GT on there bebroom wall easy for them but a pissoff for us. thanks to FF members

Re: Nunber Plate Stolen

Yes, there is the possibility that they could bugger the bumper, but more liekly they will be frustrated that they didnt get any easy score, and then nick off. If the plate is really secured this shouldnt happen. A bead of urethane around the edges can also help.
Hey GT Johhny what state are you in ? $154 sounds steep........
Should have told em you needed two. I was thinking of doing this...ahhh hmmmm No I wouldnt do anything illegal like this. But in NSW it costs $54 to have them.

Regards

Paul
