Just wondering how everyones Oil consumption and Brake Squeel is going ?
My Pursuit has got 16,500k's on it now and has used no oil since 10,000, i wwas concerned about it when i first bought it, as it used 2 litres in the first 2500k's, then 1 litre between 3000k's and 10,000k's. It has completely settled down now, which leads me to think, did some people panic too quickly and get rebuilds, when they should of waited ?
The brake squeel issue on the standard FPV brakes seems to have dissapeared too, mine were dreadful for the first 7- 8000k's and now dont bother me at all, nice and quiet.
There was going to be a new pad material made by PBR and replaced when the owners complained of the noise, has that eventuated ? How has everyones brake squeel going ?
July 03 build, 29 500 kms, NO abnormal oil consumption. Brake squeal has diminished without any adjustments, however appears now and again if brakes are softly applied.

15,000kms, using between 750ml and 1lt per 1000Kms, is on FPV oil watch, brake squeal was fixed by replacing pads, not a peep out of 'em now. Car stalls or revs at 2000rpm very occasionally. Will be following up these issues early in the new year, even if it means a letter to Mr Flint.
Other than that, car is performing well and is still a pleasure to drive, must be, gone through a set of tyres in 15,000kms!!!......Welllll it is a performance car......right????

July 03 GT. On second engine due to Oil consumption which was monitored by the local dealer from 7,000 to 14,000 kms. Funnily enough, the new engine is running Castrol GTX3 and hasn't used a drop in 7,000 kms. Will wait a little longer before moving to Synthetic.

Sept 03 GTP, Change oils every 7,500klms No oil issue at 3,000klm, about half a litre at 7,500 (Shell Helix Ultra), about a litre at 15,000klm (Mobil 1), 3.5 litres at 22,000 and now about 3-4 litres at 28,000. Ford wants me to go on Oil watch from 30,000klms. At this rate the sump will go dry before the next service. Other than an increasing oil issue, I have had no problems with car.

Will be interested to know what your consumption is as lt/1000kms once you start FPV oil watch. On your last check that equates to 666ml/1000kms. Still excessive by FPV's reckoning, they told me 200mls/1000kms was normal and 500mls/1000kms is the maximum they would consider as acceptable????
