Opening the boot with the keyfob

I have a question about my GT. When my car is locked and the alarm is on, if I open the boot using the button on the keyfob, my alarm goes off.

Is this normal ? Is that what happens when you all do the same ?

My dealer (and FPV customer service) has told me to unlock the car first and then pop the boot.

I'm not doubting them, I just thought it was a little odd as the owners manual says that opening the boot (using the keyfob) when the alarm is on, disables the boot sensor and then it re-enables the sensor when you close the boot.

Thanks

Not sure about the GTs, but I know that when my sister still had her old Honda Accord you had to unlock the door before the boot because of the alarm...it tricked a couple people. Probably the same on the GTs (unless it isn't supposed to do that...in which case it is probably a wiring fault)

Re: Opening the boot with the keyfob

It shouldn't make any difference,if your car is alarmed and you press to unlock the boot, the boot should open without the alarm going off.Take it back to the dealer to get it rectified. The same applies to the T-Series.
Cheers John

Re: Opening the boot with the keyfob

Your right.
Mine is starting to do this and it pisses me off.
According to the manual and how mine has operated until recently, you press the boot button so u can load the boot without disarming the system and opening the doors.Once close the boot is reactivated.
Warranty job!

Ours does this too and it really p!sses me off.

Our previous TS50 also had the same problem. Dont know whats so hard about setting up the system to recognise the boot has been opened?

Re: Opening the boot with the keyfob

DGROMs and I had a discussion about this on the day at Eastern Creek.

Mine always did it from new a really pissed me off. The dealer initially told me all FPVs did it so it must be normal.

After the track day, I took it back and complained again. They looked into it and informed me that, contrary to their previous stance, it is NOT supposed to do it.

They spent some time on it, and now is goes off only 50 percent of the time. They said that they would fully fix it when I could leave the car with them for some time while they investigated the issue more fully.

I have had DVD entertainment problems that have taken time to resolve that has a hirer priority. I will take it back probably next week to get the boot fully fixed.

My advise: Hang in there and ask the dealer to fix it!!
