Perth Street Car Mag tests..

For anyone that hasnt already, check out the latest Perth Street Car magazine its always a good read and lately they've tested a few of BPT'S products. This issue they test the Thermostat that the Doc has and also a new prodcut which is being developed is a larger intake pipe which runs from the pod to the throttle body, both show significant torque gains aswell as small pek power gains.

Just though i'd let you all know.

Cheers.

What is on the cover of that mag? because I think we are a few issues behind here. The latest one out here has the ba xr8 & pursuit getting a few mods tested. I can't remember whats on the cover.

Re: Perth Street Car Mag tests..

interesting to see that they tried two different mods:

first a thermostat on a BA GT that produced an extra 3kw taking the dyno to 229.5kw

second an induction pipe on a BA XR8 that produced an extra 6.6kw taking the dyno to 232.3kw

I would be pissed that the GT is 31rwkw down on the XR8........

That would be Rear wheel power Jim not flywheel power..229.5KW at the tyres is around 300 kw at the flywheel or in old school terms 400 h.p.
Cheers Alex.

No, I realise this- chassis dyno'd can only read rear wheel power- the point i'm making is that the GT produced numbers 31kw down on the XR8, that's all.

just an isolated case i guess- but same dyno, same day, two different cars- one supposedly 30fwkw better, and turns out 30rwkw worse on the dyno........

Um isn't the MkII using the exact same engine, so shouldn't it be interchangeable between both cars or have i missed a few things.

Re: Perth Street Car Mag tests..

Did i misread that article on the induction pipe or does it say that power increases by 6.6rwkw but torque was up 200N at the wheels. Dam if thats right thats a huge jump in torque but i fugure i got it wrong as theres only 6.6rwkw jump.
