Quality Fittings

As discussed in another thread, here is a picture of the sill extension supports on a BA GT/GT-p. These are spaced every 900mm or so along the sill extension between the front and rear wheel arches and secured by a pair of slide on speed clips.

Secure isn't a word I'd use. You can slide the speed clips off with a finger.
Up on the hoist for a 1500 km service.

Cheers

I wonder if the placky bit of "guttering" also got the datadot treatment?...
Talk about outta sight, outta mind?... That is a disgrace!

Re: Quality Fittings

Side sills are easy picker-upperers of gravel on dirt roads or loose aggregrate on bitumen, due to the new tyres picking them up and flinging them in. A heavy dose of the brakes and you hear them sliding forewards down the sill!

As another observation, not sure about GT but on XR's under the front spoiler there is a black scuff plate type thing that protrudes under and out from the spoiler material, held in by plastic type lugs. Wouldnt be too hard to peel it back on a low kerb! A great idea would be to tuck it under the spoiler plastic, rather than sticking out.

Re: Quality Fittings

Russ:
Most earlier mo0dels didn't even have these - the skirts sagegd over time. The moulded skirt can support itself however it looks like FPV have done more than required by adding these. I used mine to contain the strobe wiring so I reckon they're great.

The prrof is in the pudding - if the skirt stays straight and doesn't sag mission achieved.
