Running in a GT whats the Best Oil to use ? - Ford Forums

By all acounts from previous discussions the Mobil 1 oil should be dumped and replaced with a mineral oil for the Run in of the new GT. up to the first 10,000Ks, and then replaced again with Mobile 1, is this correct and whats the best mineral oil to use ?

The factory fill is a Castrol mineral 15W40 to assist in bedding in rings / bore and FPV recommend 6000 km then change to a full synthetic 0W40. The only oil to use in my opinion is Mobil 1 0W40 Supersyn.

Yes FPV have the running in oil in it from scratch, after that it's your choice but I use and always have Penrite oil in all my cars and Harleys and it's a good product and australian owned.

any of the 0W 40 oils fully synthetics should do the trick on the modular donk
the oil lab at my work has shown me the good results from fully synthetic oils
