Hey guys... ive been doin a bit of thinkin lately (probably a surprise to u all!!) but i was wonderin about ford bringing back the sprint nameplate.... whatyas reckon? could be a viable alternative to the GT-HO name? or maybe just bring out a limited release of gt powered xr8's to boost the xr8 nameplate.... i guess the gt owners would be pissed off but u kno what i mean... the ED xr8 sprint was lighter, kinda no frills GT, i reckon it would be cool to bring out a XR8 sprint limited realease again!!!

Sounds a goer to me... like the old pursuit etc in the XR8 sedans of the AU ilk with 220kw. I like the idea. There' not a soul here who wouldn't happily see 150kg stripped from the beast either.
even if they lightened the XR8 and took off 150kg and left the same motor in it...i predict 0-100 times around 5.7-5.8 seconds......FINALLY it would beat an SS.....then slap the 'sprint' name on it...i like the sound of that
Ford isn't out to step on anybody's toes. HSV would have pissed off owners for years about their power hikes every 12 months if people took that attitude. It's not that the new car has 10 more kw and suddely your BA series I GT-P is worthless. I mean Ford doesn't just update every 3 months for no reason, it's part of the nature of car buying that they plan updates every year or two... do I wait 2 years for more power or am I happy buying the car I've got now? Any FPV owner who buys a new or used FPV and bitches about the new model having 10kw more needs his head read. You buy a car based on how good it is and still will be even if a new model is a little better, otherwise why the hell did you buy the first one? I'd complain sure of a GTHO came out and i had just invested in a GT-P but then again, I'd still be pretty f*&ing glad to own a 290kw GT-P where a few extra grand would get me laughing down the better side of 320kw... no hassles.
