Just had the first SS inductions 80mm billet throttle body fitted to my GTP. I had my doubts as to how much a difference it would make.
Let me be the first to tell you, going by the seat of my pants (until I do a dyno comparo) it feels like its made the same amount of difference as the SS cold air intake I had fitted two weeks ago.
Combined with my CES twin 2,5" mandrel bent stainless steel exhaust system - she realy hauls arse now.
In the next two weeks Im having larger high flow cats fitted, then the inlet mainfold matched and flow ported, followed by some computer managment, Ill keep you all posted.
Im getting some pics of the throttle body fitted, I will have them posted in the next couple of days.
Its a complete Billet package, incorporating the factory electronics and electro motors.
It looks awesome too. Also, a mate who I just left (blasted away from his office) called me to tell me my car sounds different again. A deeper gutural roar, he said.
It cost $699. And so far I think I got value for money.
With regards to total power, I will wait until the last touch is done at Chiptorque. Then I will post the rwhp KW & HP based on Dyno Dynamics 'shoot out' mode.
If I got 400 rwhp, I would be very pleased indeed.
Even now I feel I could seriously kick some HSV butt. And Im referring to the GTS, not the Clubbie.
I will have pics of the throttle body loaded within the next hour or two. I'll get some of the whole car in the next few weeks. It's lowered with the King springs kit and looks awesome, 30 mm rear & 20 mm front.
Regarding the exhaust which looks good too, twin 3" polished gun barrels out the back, it is a true twin 2.5" stainless mandrel bent all the way through (even over the rear axle), with an X piple just behind the cats with a balance pipe just aft of the centre muffler, 'Check out the pics'.
With this add on alone it took the rwhp from stock up to 232 Kw, with the car only showing 5,800 Kms on the clock at the time.
The supplier is CES (Custom Exhaust Specialists) at Meadowbrook QLD, 07 32002333, ask for Trevour. They only do high performance vehicles and race cars. It costs $1,800.
Mate if I were you I would be getting a unichip rather than the chiptorque unit, just has some better performance figures and is generally nicer on the engine.
