HI there, just your thoughts on having the car lowered.I must admit that it looks good and mean when there' lowered and i like the stance,but i was talking to a Ford man in the knowhow of the suspension and he advised me that Ford don't like to see the suspension altered because they come out of the factory set up as they should be and all the testing have been done to their best specs.and performance plus also the front spoiler is more suscepticle to damage by being lowered by an inch.the more i think of it the more i agree with him, i might just get my exhaust and chip done by Herrod's when i get my GTP in about 3 weeks.

I sort of agree however, herrods do know about Fords so I wouldnt be too worried. I am having the Herrod spring and camber kit installed at 3000km service and based on feedback from others on this site I decided to do it.
Now only if I could get enough money together for that exhaust system!!

Mate it is only a decission you can make, me personally I like the lowered look even if you only lower the rear to make the car sit level which is how they all should sit,and when it come's to damage of the front spoiler well yes it can happen but it can even happen at the original height,you just have to learn to be extreamly carefull in carpark's etc,but I do know for sure that when I had my car lowered by Herrod's it is now better in the goemetry area,if I had off left it stock I would have been through a set off 17inch tyre's by now and I've only done 20,000klm,s (maybe I'm over exagerating a little)but they were wearing very very quickly on the outer edges,now with the castor and camber kit I should see better millage,I have no regreat's in lowering at all.

greetings all
my pursuit has standard suspension & i have already scraped the lower edge of the front bar in the first week

my XH XR-6 ute is on it's guts & has been there for around 4 years & is only now starting to show a few marks

it is mainly how you drive the car but remember the front bar on the GT/p & pursuit's is fibroglass & doesn't like to be flexed where as the XH is plastic & very flexable

I agree with Rod. I find the hassles of driving even a stock BA FPV to try and keep the front bar off the ground is painful. I wouldn't go out of my way to lower it that's for sure.

Aussie Pete is so right. It's a hassle ensuring driveways are not too steep, and changing habits, styles etc. to suit.

I have developed this facial twitch.... My head turns to the side, I suint through both eyes and purse my lips. If there is no scraping sound a very large aaaaaaaaaaaah is heard.

Sure lowering makes the meanest look even meaner. I've been there done that, and IMO its just not worth the hunting for more friendly driveways, humps or whatever........

Guys guys guys. Before further comments, have a look at my pics and some factory pics of the car height and the NOSE of the car. You will note that MOST of the height (1 inch) is lost at the REAR and NOT at the front nose.

The gap betwen the wheel and wheel arch at the front is only vey minor. When the GTs come out of the factory, the back is HIGHER than the front that makes the FRONT of the car TIP down on its nose.

When Herrods did my suspension dump, the front tip of the car became level, so the front nose of the car did NOT drop 1 inch.

As yet ive not had any major dramas with driveways or the sort. I'll measure the front tip with a standard GT for all your info.
