Went to start my TL50 this morning and the hazard lights flashed 10 times then stopped flashing.

It keeps dioing it every time I start the car.

I read the manual and couldn't seem to find anything about it.

Anyone got any ideas?

It's your alarm. This happened to me a while ago, the only way I could stop it was to remove the unit from the car. (unbolt it from the bracket and disconnect the connector) This happens when the back up battery goes flat or in my case, after I washed under the bonnet (over - exuberantly) and caused the printed circuit board in the alarm to have a cardiac). You can get your dealership to replace the back up battery (they will probably send it out to an external vendor)

Do you mean unbolting the siren? If I disconnect it will the car still drive or is there no immobiliser?

Yes, the car is 100% drivable, you just do not have a siren for the alarm. You may want to get it fixed asap, for insurance purposes.

I have had it and dealt with it. The ten flashes means it is going into reset mode because of an interuption. This can sometimes be caused by a faulty key barrel (which is reasonably common) or water contamination. It don't take much water even condensation in barrel can cause it. Often it can be overcome by simply pressing hard with your thumb donw on the barrel while wiggling and it promotes a better firmer contact inside and it will go away. A dealer showed me this and it has never played up since.
